Ahhh, the holidays are here! I've found if I do it right, Thanksgiving and Christmas can be filled with beautiful memories of love and laughter to be cherished for a lifetime. Nowadays it feels like the holidays can be rushed away with ALL the things to do. Christmas concerts, cookies with the big man, light shows, caroling, baking, gift shopping, gift wrapping - oh my! The list grows oh so fast and before you know it we are saying happy new year and find ourselves reflecting on what we will do with the year ahead. But what did you get to do for YOU? Don't let the chance for your holiday photos get rushed away. I know, we could so easily snap a picture with our phones and make a quick e-card. But the love and laughter I was talking about before comes from the Christmas magic that YOU bring to life! Giving your family the opportunity to come to the studio for a Christmas Session takes all the stress off you and brings your family that much closer to that love and laughter kind of memory.
I like to do things a little differently here at the Studio. (Ask Ash Photography Studio - Curated located in Jefferson, New Jersey) I like to create an experience for you and your loved ones for me to capture behind the camera. This creates an environment where you can really enjoy the moment. I don't book studio time for less that an hour to give you a sense of calm. None of the "Smile, say cheese - next!" will be found around my studio. You'll be welcomed in, offered a cup of coffee, given a chance to check out the space and breathe for a minute. Where else can you get that this time of year? You might be curious as to what I mean by creating an experience, so here are a few examples! When you reach out to me to book your Christmas session I will already have a few ideas to offer for that calendar year and you can pick which one feels the most authentic to you! Now you can also opt for just posing or a nice old style JCPenny vibe if you'd like! From my experience people tend to tense up in front of the camera. With an activity or prompts I can keep you moving and smiling naturally.
For Christmas Studio Sessions in 2024 the experiences include "Christmas cookies," "decorating the tree," "story time," and "cozy Christmas couch." Christmas cookies involves some playfulness and maybe a bit of a mess, but a cute mess! A cute mess that includes flour, cookies, icing, sprinkles and all the feels of Christmas in the kitchen! After the shoot you get to walk home with all the cookies you decorated and more. Dough and cookies are provided by Personal Chef Lisa Marie, which are to die for incase you needed some convincing. Then we have decorating the tree as a Christmas Studio Session which is just as it sounds. We will recreate the chaos the comes at home but in a tasteful way. The bins will be out for you to take ornaments, ribbon, tinsel and more and hang it on the tree with your loved ones. There are no limits to this so let your mind make it your own! Maybe you always string popcorn for the tree, let's do it! Or maybe you have special ornaments you have as a family, bring them along and we can capture your special moments! You also get to go home with a commemorative ornament with your family name to remember the day by! The Christmas Studio Session, story time, is great for the people that like to snuggle up in a chair by their tree and read a book or sit on the floor with blankets and pillows reading books leading up to Christmas. Lastly we have cozy Christmas couch which is perfect for those that cant wait to break out their Christmas pjs and cozy socks. Snuggle up on the couch, have a cookie, sip some hot chocolate and have some Christmas spirited fun!
Doesn't that all sound like a blast! Did you forget this is a photoshoot? Because I almost did! While you and your family are focused on having some fun I'll be focused on capturing the moments between you. I'll give prompts to those feeling stiff or suggestions to help the pictures tell more of a story. Otherwise, it is all you and up to what you would like to do! My job is to capture the sweet moments in your life and that's just what I'll do! You leave the studio and the rest is up to me. (Imagine, Christmas fun with no mess you need to clean up!) Then you'll receive your fully edited album on a digital link within two weeks of your session. No watermarks, no download limits, no extra charges for access to additional pictures.
